I know Abby already blogged about this. But I'm kinda hating facebook. It's unreliable and glitchy. It has way too many stupid applications. People make the most pointless groups, pages, events, and so on. And it eats up too much of my time. Bored in class? Check facebook. Friends all busy? Check facebook. Anxiously waiting for a message? Check facebook REPEATEDLY. Nothing to do in general? Log on MINDLESSLY. Over the last little while I've been spending more and more time on my computer. WHY? I probably have homework to be doing, like writing letters for poli sci and papers for English and IS, plus random assignments. Even if I feel like procrastinating more, I could easily pick up one of the many books I bought or borrowed and read all day. I could crank my music and put up pictures, or clean my room and vacuum, or write letters. I could pick up my trumpet for the first time in ages and play some pretty hymns from the pocket hymnal I thought to take along. I could go down to the practice rooms or the Atrium and play some piano. I could do laundry (well, I just did that). I could sleep. I could go for a walk. I could play games with people. There's this endless list of other stuff I could be doing. I just don't want to miss anything. I don't want to miss a chance to talk to Emily, for example. So I just leave my facebook open in case she happens to come online. Same goes for msn. it's not even just facebook that's so bad (although it's an issue...I could have changed my status like 5 times today). It's my computer in general. Facebook, Mario, Sims, msn, youtube, movies, even blogging! So, I'm gonna shut down my computer tonight and see how long I can go computer free. Probably won't last longer than tomorrow, but we'll see how it goes (except for class). I don't really need it for any homework QUITE yet so that's fine. Later!

Nicole posted to her blog and I wanted to respond to it. She talked about guys and how she (and lots of girls) are searching for that guy and can't wait for that part of their lives to start. She said that she needs to learn to wait, because it's all in God's timing, not hers. I'm figuring, it's pointless to worry about guys right now anyway. I mean, I know people my sister's age are getting married, but they're also moving away. This is a time when everybody is moving around and only some of us are sure about our plans. That's something I think about a lot here. I mean, people date so easily within the rez and the school, but don't they realize these people are FROM far away? Yeah, we're all here for now, but we won't be forever. Plus summer and everything. Being from BC, I know how few people (relative to the population of the school) are from there. I know that for myself, it would be very difficult for me to date somebody from far away. Even living in Edmonton for as long as I have is hard for me. I don't know exactly where I meant this to go. I changed my way of thinking halfway through writing this anyway. It's hard to know. I think I'd prefer to stay on the coast though, providing everybody I know doesn't move away. I love how this moved from guys to where I want to live. One more reason I don't worry about them right now. I'm young. I have so much more to come in my life than a man. I want to go on missions, be an English teacher, become a good musician, get a job I love...a man will fit nicely, but he'll come when he comes.

I should go to bed earlier. In my defense, I did watch AVATAR IN IMAX 3D TONIGHT. Which was at West Ed. At 10:30. Almost 3 hour long movie, equals long night. We got there 9:15ish, hung around for an hour, entered the theatre, watched the preshow (which advertised an "exclusive" clip for a movie that's coming out soon...I mean on January 8...), watched the movie, got out at like, 1:30 or something, drove back (ran out of gas literally as we stopped at a pump) and arrived back at 1:50-2ish? Makes sense. So where'd the last hour go? Oh well. Decent memories/tidbits of information from this experience: -Imax has a deal on Tuesdays. Movie, popcorn, drink for $16.45. It's like free food! You don't even have to click a button saying "I want a voucher for the concession". It's Heather and Allison proof! -Avatar was directed by James Cameron. Guess what else he directed? Titanic. And The Abyss. Guess when he came up with Avatar? Before Titanic was released. Yeah. Amazing director, way ahead of his time. -When the left turn light is red, you might as well go anyway -If Anthony had been pulled over for running said red light, Heather might have had a drink. Nobody felt like holding their drinks so we all put them on the floor since we weren't moving in the line anyway. Took me about half an hour to do so and two minutes after I did, Anthony did a pirouette and kicked Heather's drink past all our group and into the people behind us. Her drink was right next to mine. It could have been me. I didn't leave it there for long. -Getting to the theatre an hour early was perfect. See, we didn't get first choice of seats, but we definitely got the best ones. -Don't drink the whole drink. You'll have to pee right in the middle of the movie or hold it for the next hour and a half. -DON'T pass the Petro Canada to find a Shell. BAD IDEA. I think we were the only 6 or 7 people in all of Edmonton that hadn't seen that movie. I see why everyone did, now. I LOVED it, but I don't know if I should get it on DVD when it comes out. Downgrading from IMAX 3D (SO worth it!) to the 52-inch in the lounge? Or the 48-inch in my living room in BC? Much less the TV in our room or my laptop. HOLY CRAP. I just looked it up (by the way, does anybody know what's the biggest Imax in Canada??) and in my search I learned that the Imax in Vancouver (Canada Place) closed on this past October! WHAT?!?! How did I miss this?! Unless I knew and forgot...WHY?! Bedtime. I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow. How do I let myself get so caught up in distractions like this? Night!

Mario!

I'm going through this awful Mario phase. Not Mario like Mario Party or Mario Kart or whatever other new versions they've got now. Mario like Super Mario Bros 1, 2, and 3. I've been playing the same game of SMB3 for like, five days. I made it to world 7 without using my warp whistle (except once when I had like, one level and the ship left, and that was by accident and I was SO mad cause I actually WANTED to play those two). Anyway, I looked some stuff up and it's so funny how the game has changed SO much. I'm the last person to claim I'm an expert on Mario, but I did find out a couple things. Like, Princess Peach used to be Princess Toadstool. For anybody who played the oldest Mario games, that seems so weird (she looks more like a short Daisy with her red hair than Peach). I'm guessing they started Peach when they changed Super Mario 3 for SNES (they changed her hair to blonde, which is probably the end of Princess Toadstool and the beginning of Peach). Just now I tried image searching "Princess Toadstool" and all I got was pictures of newer Peaches like Mario Party, etc, until I got to page three or four. So weird how it evolved like that. I didn't even realize they were the same character, I just wondered what the heck happened to Princess Toadstool. And yesterday I tried playing SMB and SMB2 again, and even between 1 and 2, Mario changed a LOT. Plus Luigi looks really strange in 2. And then when you get to 3, they look pretty awesome cause technology's getting better. I don't know what comes between side scrolling games like that and Mario Party and Mario Kart and so on, but now they're 3D. I loved playing Mario on my oma's NES when I was younger and now that I figured out I can play it on my computer, I'm pretty stoked. Everybody has sweet systems now like Playstations, Wiis, Gamecubes, Xboxes and so on, but I love going back to the old classic games. Hey I just found five bucks in my pocket. Sweet. AND I'm going to see Avatar tonight in Imax 3D. AND the guys are practicing for Battle of the Bands across the hall again. AND my room is clean. Mostly. And the cupboard is cleaned out and organized, and dishes are done. Such a good feeling. AND I have no class tomorrow (just IS). So. Stoked.

Ha! Poli sci is gonna rock. Sit in the back with my computer/bubble games, Elyse, and Eric, and it's gonna be awesome =) And more interesting than history. Also probably more difficult...sigh. AND Eric has two CDs to give me! Hideaway and Say I Am You (the Weepies). Looking forward to English tomorrow =)
