Please don't tell me you think it's okay to minimize the deaths of over a thousand people by saying, "Everything happens for a reason" and "It sucks, but it's our own fault. Earth's trying to tell us something". A forest fire is good for cleaning out the forest and making room for new growth. People are not trees. Keeping the world from getting more overpopulated than it already is does NOT make an earthquake good. And it is insensitive to act as though this is merely a lesson learned ("we need to get our shit together") instead of the disaster that it is. We should be able to take some time to mourn.I read somewhere that we are incapable of recognizing people as individuals in groups numbering more than 20. So maybe you just don't understand the magnitude of 1000+ people dead and thousands more missing.
PS. "We" aren't dying. People across the world are. So don't tell me "we're" dying because of our own actions.
